Okay, I found this map online. It's a very well-made map of Panem (the best I've found), so everyone should post what District they'd be in! My state (Missouri) is split between 2, 6, and 11. :/ And my city is split between 6 and 11. So, since Rue is my favorite character (I seriously like her better than Katniss) I chose 11. If you don't live in the US, or your state is underwater, just choose either your favorite district, state, or the one closest to where you are.

According to this map, I am dead. All of Vegas is dead. I am underwater with the rest of my city. Hurrah.

I'm in Australia, so I don't really know if I'm dead or not...
Yay?

Technically, Panem was in the ruins of North America, so D7 won't just conveniently stop at the U.S./Canada border...
Arizona is dead, so the closest is...1? Or 3. I think I'd rather be a Career.

Yeah, I agree. I think whoever made this was only looking at the key products of the US to determine the districts. (I remember from a map in social studies that 8, 11, and 12 are all definitely right) Anyway, I feel like I'm the only one still living on this forum... ;D so yeah for me! -celebrates- Oh, but, ah, I'm sorry for your deaths.

I'm in Canada, so I live in the wild.. The district closest to me is D13, but I'd shimmy to the other side of Ontario and chose D8.... Or stay in the wild. xD

The wild is always fun. See, this is the joy of the Midwest. You're never, ever, EVER in danger of a flood wiping you out! ;D The bad news: Missouri is split between 2, 6, and 11. My city is split between 6 and 11. So I just chose 11, as Rue is the best! (As I mentioned before)

I think mountains are better then the wild, but that's just coming from someone who used to live in B.C. No one here knows what a mountain is. You're from Missouri?! I have a friend there. I haven't heard from him in a while though. You're basing that on which character you like the most, I'd stop and think of the life you'd have there first.

Welll geographically, i would be in the Capitol. But Other wise, based off of characters I would be in either D2 or D7 because I like the idea of the peacekeepers and I like Johanna... so yeah. But No I think there are issues with this map it is good, but I think D2 is a bit far away from the Capitol, it was their big military base and you would want that close. D7 mostlikely goes up into Canada becase welll...tree continue up there. Also I see D4 being like a really long narrow strip, basically all costal and D11 needs to be bigger, crops take up a lot a of space. D12 is too big, tis supposedd to be the smallest, while D2 should be bigger too, it houses mountains mines, military bases etc. D10 is ill placed as well. Cattle will need MUCH more grazing space and that is no where near enough to feed all of panem and those northern winters are rough on them So those are some of my thoughts

I have to agree with Kate on those points. But part of the series that always bugged me was just how everyone sort of accepted that there was just nothing outside of Panem, and that was the way it was. I mean, there could've been a whole 'nother country out there for all they knew, and especially with all those thoughts of running away...

You know what? I'll take that into consideration the moment 40% of the US floods. Maybe they were just scared. 98% of Panem is in the US, the other 2% in Mexico. If almost half of your country had just disappeared, I know I wouldn't want to see what kind of state the rest of the world was in. Plus, the presidents had probably decided to keep Panem ignorant. If they're ignorant, they're easier to control.

You might not have to wait too much longer for that. If another ice shelf melts, we'll be saying good-bye to both coasts.

Good point. That'll kinda suck, 'cos my family vacations in Maryland. ;D JK. But technically, we won't have to worry too much about that if it melts off Antarctica. I think mankind was sort of destined to die. Like the dinosaurs. But we had a good run. I just wish everyone would clean up after their own pollution.

If the coasts go, my land value will go up, beach front property anyone? haha sorry. Although I think the humanity coming to end thing probably deserves its own thread in th WAR area, that could be a touchy subject. I for one will happily argue in it But no, deciding where you would live is really difficult to figure out in this because, like stated above, we have no idea what is going on outside of norht america. With that much flooding, I would have to say most of australia is gone, and alll the pacific islands. Europe and Asia would probably be okay but how have they reacted. Mass plague die outs? War? Maybe they didn't get bothered at all and are ignoring Americas. Speaking of that, what about all of South america?
