First of all, I LOVE Warriors, too! I'm a total RiverClan.
Now, my answer...

And here's why:
Peeta has done nothing but protect Katniss and do (pretty much) what she says, whereas Gale goes off on his own irrelevant tangents he calls "plans" and blow people up.
Nothing wrong with you Gale-ers, but I'm with Peeta, all the way, because

 I don't KNOW anymore!I can't decide between Peeta and Gale! Oh, gawd, I feel so conflicted. I'd like to say Peeta, but I don't know if it's true... once upon a time, I was solidly in love with Breadboy, and now I'm writing a Galefic, which has definitely influenced me. Argh.

Gale, hands down.
I think Peeta is hiding in the closet. Seriously, he's a baker, almost all breadhead's that I know are gay, so I think he's hiding something. That, and I can out bake him any day of the week and twice on sunday!
But Peeta is perfect for Katniss, because that leaves Gale free to date girls much better then her.

There was once upon a time where I would have said Gale, hands down. But I suppose I've been a bit influenced by others. Instead of just seeing one side, I saw both, and now I just won't choose. I never really liked them anyway, so nothing lost there. xD

 I consider everyone's default sexuality (no offense intended) to be bi and fluid thereby going in either direction. I just wish that SuCo had actually addressed teenagers wanted to bone each other a bit better, instead of glossing over it. I know the story was in Katniss's POV and Katniss just doesn't care, but you know both Peeta and Gale have sat there and thought about what it would be like to sleep with her. I love Peeta the best. I always have, right from the beginning. Not to say I ddon't like Gale, but I liked him a lot better in the first book than in the other two. Which I know isn't saying much, but I didn't like that by MJ he had turned just as ardent/zealous as the people he was trying to destroy. Human nature, of course, and it made for an interesting character, but it didn't give me any sympathy points in his direction. And with MJ...I loved Peeta even more, which I know may sound weird considering how he was behaving. But on a different level, I understood it. Because I understood what it is like to be confronted by a whole bunch of different things and it's all too much and overwhelms you and you can't tell what's real and what's not. Yeah...I've hallucinated before in a way that was not drug-induced (cause I don't do drugs). Fun times. Anyway. I thought that he balanced Katniss well. He brought sweetness and patience to her. A chance to stop and look around and see beauty instead of always running on instinct. And I always think the long-lasting relationships are the ones that balance each other. |

I accept the ending of Mockingjay and the fact that Katniss's (and SuCo's) reasoning about why Peeta is better for Katniss than Gale is sound.
However, this doesn't stop me from severly disliking Peeta as a character.

But if I had to pick I would choose Peeta.
