Yes, this thread is shamelessly stolen from Glake...what? I like it *grins* Not that anyone but Kate knows what Glake is anyway...Just a fun place to share what you're reading right now - books, graphic novels, even fanfiction if you want! Also a great place to shamelessly look for new reading material Right now I'm reading The Blue Sword, which my friend lent me months ago (literally) and I figured I should finish so I can return it to her before school ends...heh...anyway it's one of her favorites and it's really good, although I different style than what I normally read.

Right now I'm reading City of Bones (first TMI book) and The Throne of Fire (second Kane Chronicles book).
And as for Fanfictions, I'm reading (copied and pasted from my alerts page):
A Fresh Start And We All Fall Down: the 80th Hunger Games Spreading the Fire Sun and Moon The 100th Hunger Games! The Capitol Games Their Worst Nightmare To Kill A Mockingjay Unfavorable Odds What we know
That's it... I think...

I've read City of Bones - not my favorite, but enjoyable for all it's fluffiness, I think. What's your favorite pairing so far? My mom said she would take me to the bookstore after school Thursday! So I'll be reading The Throne of Fire then. Although I remembered I also have to go to a recital that evening, but whatever. I'll skip dinner to make up for it

I'm just going to list books because I'm reading way too many fanfictions to list, ahaha.
Afterlife, the last book of the Evernight series. I bought it weeks ago and haven't gotten around to actually reading it. The first three were really enjoyable (although I spent most of them crushing on Balthazar) but I already know that the fourth has a bit of a downer ending.
Beautiful Creatures + Beautiful Darkness, which are more books I bought that I haven't gotten around to. It's a male perspective in love with a 'caster' (any excuse not to say the word witch, I guess.)
Zombies vs. Unicorns, I've already read it once- but it's so hilarious in some of the stories, I can't help but read it again. I'm Team Zombie, but gosh darn it do I like the unicorns in this anthology.
Zombie Blondes, I'm trying to get into this, but it's really hard. It sort of... gets boring in patches and I end up putting it down. Hopefully I'll power through like when I read the Communist Manifesto and had to get past all those damn forewords.
-and I'm currently in the midst of re-reading-
Halo, which isn't about the video game- but I'm trying to pinpoint why I didn't enjoy this book. I think it's because she fell in love with the guy so easily (and visa versa) but I don't know yet.
Leviathan & Behemoth, since the third book is coming out this year I heard~!

I'm reading The City of Bones too. I've got the whole book series so far and am in my bed about to start reading. ^_^ I read the Evernight series but haven't read Afterlife get. I've been looking at my dwindling money supply and am trying to ration it out. Is Afterlife worth reading? As for fanfictions, I've mostly been lurking in the PJO area. It is absolutely insane the number of terrible fic's there. So I won't tell you any of them. I'm reading the Capitol Games though and am loving it. And I'm looking forward to the next PJO book, is anyone else a fan?

-blush- Thank you. Honestly, I'm surprised I have so many readers. I'm constantly frantic that I'm letting them down. Luckily they don't mind 7000+ word updates, haha.
It's alright. It's not as good as Evernight/Stargazer was, but I think that during Hourglass Claudia Gray sort of lost heart or interest in the books. Keep your money and buy it when it's cheaper, or borrow it if you can. (I never borrow books because I hate returning them, and since I'm an adult that means I get a fee, haha.)

Haha, you're welcome. And don't worry, it's better having 7000+ updates than 100-500 updates. Thanks, I'll just save it then, it's sad when an author loses interest in their own books. They should just wind the series down there because it's just a let down to the readers. But that's just my opinion.

That was my intention, haha. I hate waiting weeks for an update and it being small. That's why I try my best to make them longer "so they're more satisfying to chew through."
-and I agree. I also hate when books are rushed, like Mockingjay. I was so excited about it as well, and it was a bit of a let down.
Also, I was just given the first book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. (The book 'True Blood' is based on.) I've read about two pages and it's pretty good so far. A vampire named 'Bill'. Ahaha.

Well the chewing is going good for me. Haha.
Mockingjay was also a bit of a let down to me, the rebellion seemed kind of rushed. But I started reading the books after they had all been published, so I can't say I was waiting a long time for Mockinhjay to come out, but still.
I've heard a lot about them, and I'm going to burrow them from a friend as soon as she finishes reading them. Even though I hate burrowing books from friends, I feel pressurised to give it back really quickly, haha. ^.^

Not trying to piss anyone off here but I hated Evernight. I was so ticked that I'd wasted my money on it! One of my friends suggested it so I bought it, but even she admits she doesn't think they're very good - of course she only said that after I'd bought it - but gah! Hated that book. Em - I love PJO and everything related to it! (See freak-out about next Kane Chronicles book above.) Is the next book after The Lost Olympian coming soon, do you mean? *prepares to freak out even more*

Rowena I will join you in your freak out cause YES! Apparently in America it's coming out in Autumn which I think is Spring for Australia. D: But I'm so excited, I'm not usually this fangirly about a book but I love Leo in The Lost Hero. ^.^
I haven't read the Kane Chronicles yet, but I've been meaning to get them.
-Mentally hits herself for wanting to buy another book-
So many books, so little time...
And I didn't mind Evernight, can't say I loved it, but it was okay. A bit to romantic for my taste though. I do like romance, but too much just overpowers me.

I only liked Balthazar, however I will say I enjoyed the change of the girl being the one with supernatural powers compared to the stock-standard "girl loves superhuman being" trend I've been seeing everywhere. -but I can see why you wouldn't like it. It was a bit teenybopper, at least until a bit later when some shit actually went down. Haha.
The books I read affect my writing. I think it's why I prefer writing gore and squick (squick = uncomfortable scenarios) because most of my favorite books involve that.

Balthazar was very cool, probably my favourite character. And his sister. I haven't really been writing anything lately, just some saved documents on my computer that may as well be portals to hell. But when I do write I find my mind does also kind of copy the pattern of the author of the book I'm reading.
