Hi. Most of you already know me, but in case for some reason you don't, I'm Amata. "Amata le Fay" on fanfiction, but just "Amata" is fine. By the way, it's not my real name, but I'm paranoid when it comes to the internet.
I'm judging the May Monthly One-Shot Competition, so definitely check that out and write something. The official post with the prompt is in there somewhere (Rowena moved it and I'm not going to go check in the middle of a post, it'd be rude), but basically the prompt is: "What don't you understand? I won." No, it's not a quote from something. It's a phrase I made up and thought would be fun.
I like:
-Writing and Reading. This is pretty natural, seeing as we're all fanfiction people here. I guess "The Hunger Games" goes without saying, too.
-Acting. On Saturday my school went to the Middle School Drama Festival and performed. We got a bronze (3rd out of 3 categories) but we had fun and I got a special award for basically playing an evil gossip stepford-smiler type.
-Shakespeare. I'm pretty obsessed.
-Magic and Fantasy. But it has to be well-written.
-Pie and Pi. Irrational Numbers. The concept of Infinity. Philosophical math.
-Pondering deep ideas while staring into space and not paying attention to the volleyball headed my way in gym class.
I don't like:
-Organizing people into lines.
-Gym class.
-Stuck-up teachers who think they always know better than you just because they're older.
-People who don't care about grammar. Or spelling. Or syntax. Or Shakespeare.
So... yeah. I realize that was uncalled for. But hey, whatever.
(Yeah, real articulate ending. I know.)
