I thought they were the best pairing out of the whole series. Finnick was willing to work through Annie's insanity in order to have a family and be with her. When they got married I melted a little- and I'm not overly melt-y when reading THG- because after all they had been through, they deserved happiness.
-however, having Finnick die just left a bitter taste in my mouth. Did a couple that had already been through all that shit really need to be torn apart at the last minute? It seemed lazy.

I didn't see a point in killing him off, honestly.
I'm re-reading MJ at the moment, though and I love that moment when they reunite after they get Annie back from the Capitol. The "crashing through time and space" to get to each other really got to me. It was so, so sweet and I understand that kind of devotion and love. That he'll be there for her through anything.

Leah - I also love their reunion scene  It was probably one of my favorite scenes in the book (maybe seconded only by their wedding  ). Though you would probably never guess it from my avatar, my favorite part of it is when Katniss says that "No one seeing them could doubt their love," because it seems so pure and innocent and wonderful, even though both of them have been through the horros of the Games and - Finnick more so - are guilty because of it, they can have such a pure love. *melts into a puddle of fangirl goo* |

Aaawww, I just love them! I'm writing an Annick fic (it was either Annick or Fannie, and I think you see the problem with the second ) where Snow was pissed at Finnick so he found out who he loved and took out part of Annie's brain. But Annick is just the second-sweetest couple EVER, even better than Keeta but not better than Fax. |
