It looked even more futurey than I thought it would be. The indoor Capitol scenes looked neony.
I was surprised by how much greenery was right next to the fence.
And those bowls definitely don't have thousands of slips, barely hundreds even. I'm guessing they narrow it down from a selection of dozens or more bowls filled with many slips in a backroom or something. (And they are divided by male and female tributes)

OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH.
I will inform you all that I've never gotten really, really excited about a movie in my life, and nor have I ever started screaming and jumping up and down. And never has a movie trailer ever made me cry, and never have I had a video on repeat on my computer for more than three times.
I BROKE ALL OF THOSE RECORDS TODAY. BY A LOT.

The trailer looks awesome. I'm really looking forward to the film. Effie creeped the hell out of me, but her Capitol accent was perfect. Also, why is Haymitch blonde? He's supposed to be from the Seam. Ah well, I'm sure Woody did a great job portraying him nonetheless. I'm really grateful they focused more on the action and violence rather than the love triangle. Don't want our fandom to be compared to Twilight (ugh) any more than it already has.

EEEP EEEP EEP.
I did such a happy-jump when I saw this. It was really awesome; although I wished they showed more from the actual Games.
UGH MARCH YOU SHOULD ARRIVE. AND THEN I WILL SQUEAL IN JOY. AGAIN.
I don't think I've ever been this excited for a movie before.

I liked it it a lot, I just wished it would have explained a little more exactly what was happening, if you haven't read the books people don't really get its about people being thrown into an arena and fighting to the death. But I loved the scenes with Gale and in the training ceter, they were awesome 128 days left (see counter below)

I hated that trailer. So much.
If only I had saved the list I made of how many inaccurate things in said trailer.
Note: Did the book ever describe Cinna as black? I don't think so!

^ I never really visualized Cinna to be black either, but there is no evidence in the books to prove that that he isn't. He was just sort of racially ambiguous.

Note: Did the book ever describe Cinna as black? I don't think so! It doesn't directly contradict the book. And why is race that important, anyway?

It isn't, not one bit. I just didn't like the fact that it went against how I pictured him. *shrug*
Everyone sees the characters differently.

I don't have a copy of the book on me right now, but the wiki says he has "close-cropped natural dark brown hair and slightly dark skin". Yet if you look at fanart on deviantart, almost every picture has someone who is paler than the olive-skinned Katniss. The book may say that katniss, and all Seam residents, have "olive skin" but it is seriously hard for me to imagine her with that complexion with a name like Katniss Everdeen.
Suzanne Collins herself imagines her with a twangy Appalachian accent, and I imagine her as a normal-looking white chick with brown hair. Black hair just seems too sleek and cool, I don't care if it is technically the most common hair color in the world, it just doesn't seem like something a Katniss-type girl would have, not even in supposedly-racially ambigious Future-Appalachia.

In general I just assume the characters are Caucasian when I'm reading, unless it explicitly says otherwise - dunno why, but that's how it is for me. The same goes for Cinna - so when I found out he was being portrayed by Lenny Kravitz I did a double take, but after thinking about it I thought it suited him, you know..?
There were some parts about the trailer that I didn't really like, but overall I thought it was pretty awesome. I did feel like it wouldn't be that appealing to people who hadn't actually read the book, but since I have read it, I enjoyed it ~ I hope in future trailers they'll include a bit more footage from the Games themselves... (Though I did like that they ended it on everyone leaving their plates.)
I showed the trailer my friend - he knows the basic premise of the book and not much else. He just asked, 'why isn't she on fire?' I had to explain that it was a costume, not the actual outfit Katniss wore in the arena... XD

Watching it at a minimum of twenty-five times a day (no, really...) since it came out--there are a lot of things that are fairly inaccurate, but... I mean... we're all still going to see it, so I think the trailer did its job. And I have to say--my favorite scenes were definitely: 1. the end of the Reaping, (great acting) 2. all of the training sequences--all of those indoor scenes were totally cool. and 3. the bloodbath--it shows how much is going on at once fairly well, and was a great place to end at (much as it tortures us with that cliffhanger, even thought we know what happens) . That aside, some of the inaccurate things did bug me--the appearances of certain characters (surprisingly, Cinna's portrayal actually didn't bother me that much... it was more the really changed ones like Effie, Haymitch, and Caesar (Flickerman). Then, of course, you have the fact that there was no hovercraft over the woods on Reaping Day, Katniss' outfit for the interview was all wrong, etc. (Now I'm just ranting...) On a better note: am I alone when I say that, so far, Willow Shields' (Prim's) acting has impressed me the most so far?

As far as acting so far, I think the end of the reapings was really good with all the lines of Katniss and Prim (Liam seems to have the brooding silent type down nicely)
My biggest issue was that FLickerman was colored right wasn't he supposed to be blue?
Last note from me...I went to the Twilight midnight release, yes yes laugh now, but I was so out of place when the first preview was Hunger Games and I almost yell out "This movie!" to my friend and everyone glares at me.

Caesar was wearing his dark blue suit with all the lights on it in the books... and, yeah, I think "blue" was his color for the 74th Games...
...and now I want to go to the movies, just to do that...
