Well, I have to say the more I though about this competition, the more I'm loving this AU idea of mine. I mean gale starting out in D2, its fate haha. Along with some intresting pairings on the side.  Anyone else making up some over the top ideas? |

I'm thinking of doing one where Peeta eats the berries but Katniss doesn't, and then she isn't in the loop for any of the rebellion stuff because Peeta was the people person and without him Haymitch/Finnick/Plutarch/the rest of the rebels don't trust her so she goes into the arena in the Quell but doesn't make it out. Or something. I dunno, that one would probably have to be pretty long and I don't know if I'll have time to write it, since I already have two slash ideas.

If it's allowed, I wanted to do a cracky Harry Potter/Hunger Games crossover thing. I even have Houses for most of the characters and everything. Even if it's not, I may just write it for my own amusement... XD

I've written something not that AU, except that everyone else has pretty much died off.
I also want to write GaleXPeeta, but I have no idea how I should tie that together. D: (Although it will probably a pitifully short fic, totaling in at about five hundred words.)

Check the word min for the challenge before you finish it  I think you should write the Gale/Peeta. Personally I would write it as "if they can't have Katniss they'll have each other!" but that's rather lame, cliche and uninteresting of me  |

I like the HP/HG crossover thing, I would read it too.
I think a parody Gale/Peeta where they're both wiating on Katniss and decide they want each other instead would be pretty funny leaving Katniss just standing there alone. hahaha

I don't really like Katniss all that much either. Partly because the characters I tend to get attached to are usually guys, but... Yeah. I couldn't really sympathize with her? I don't know. XD
I am also in favour of Gale/Peeta, with Katniss being the one left alone ~

My problem with Katniss is that I loved her when things started out. I thought she was awesome. She put her family over everything, she sacrificed herself for her sister, she didn't want romance that was the last thing on her mind. Then all this strength she (what I admired most) just fell apart. she didn't hold herself together for anything, she just let herself crumble.
So yeah, by the end of MJ, I hated her.

I, quite frankly, was just tired of hearing her whine~ I didn't relate to her very much at all, but she was a welcome change from most female MCs and a good narrator. Still, by the end of MJ I was like "Let me out of Katniss's head!!"

Yeah, I have to agree. I liked her at first, but by the end of MJ... What really, really upset me about that book was that Finnick died. (My favourite characters always die!) And he didn't need to, I don't think - if they had just gone back to the base or whatever, more of the 'Star Squad' (name is probably wrong, I haven't read MJ in a couple of months) would have survived. Instead, only Gale, Peeta and Katniss did. Plus Cressida and Castor, but they weren't really important/main characters. Finnick was. D:
At the risk of this devolving into a(n even more off-topic) rant about why I didn't like the last book, I'll just leave it at that. XD Any post-series stories that I write are AUs where Finnick somehow survived. ;P

Finnick's death didn't bother me that much (ignores gasps of terror) i just didn't like all the blah blah blah ness of it all |
