Did/does your school have summer reading? How is it arranged? Are there ever any actually good books on it? What are your favorite books you had to read for summer reading? Least favorite? When I was in lower and middle school, they would give us a list of books and we had to read two off of it, but (in my opinion) there were never any good books on the list to begin with. In my high school, we have to read one book for English and one book for History, and then two books off of a list. The books on the list are actually really good, and this year the English book was Maus 1 & 2 and the History book was Hiroshima. This year they had a student comittee to pick the 11th and 12th grade English book, and to pick some of the books for the list, which I was on, so I got to help pick Maus. Also we got to put some pretty awesome books on the list

When I was younger, no. there were no summer reading projects until the summer between my junior and senior year. Then we had to read romeo and juliet and Washington square, but that was just for my Lit. class.

While I was in High school, we never had summer reading. Or even summer homework. Part of the joys of living in Canada, I guess.

It doesn't seem like too many places really require summer reading, mine did because it was a class that I got a highschool credit for, and then college credit.

If I could have gotten extra credits for reading over the summer, then I would have.
