SO, I've heard rumors that SuCo is planning a new book, dystopian of course. Does anyone else know anything about this?

I've heard nothing of the sort. But I really hope the rumour is right; it'd be great to read more from her.

I did some googling and found out that SuCo is planning on writing a new Book! Unfortunately not Hunger Games related!! Author of the beloved Hunger Games Trilogy, Suzanne Collins is writing a new children's book that deals with war and she says its mostly autobiographical! The book will have pictures based on family photos and characters with names of people she actually knows. This is where I found the article. thereadersheartstring.blogspot.com/2011/04/suzanne-collins-new-book.html?m=1

Thanks for that Ducky, but is anyone else getting a deja vu feeling with that book?
Mockingjay spoilers The book that Peeta and Katniss write at the end of mockingjay about all the other people. Sounds an awful lot like what SuCo is doing now.

Well, I really hope it's interesting to read. I'm not sure how legit the source is, but let's see, shall we?
Also, if she did write a HG games spinoff, I'd love for it to be about Finnick and Annie. (Anyone else's opinions about potential spinoffs?)

The original rebellion and how the hunger games actually came to be would be pretty nice, either that or one that acts as an extended epilogue so we know what happens to all the others after MJ

I'd love to read about the original rebellion. I'm also dying to know what happened to everyone who didn't end up in Panem. (If a society did actually survive outside of it, that is.)
I think an extended epilogue wouldn't be too great, though. The series finishes off pretty nicely, and I think that it would just detract from the original trilogy if a fourth book was published.

Yes, the rest of the world (if there is one) would be a great book.
See I didn't like how it ended. katniss got a happy little ending but everyone else just kind of fell off the face of the earth. ALl we know is haymitch raises geese and is still drunk, peeta baks, and katniss hunts. We don;t know anything about anyone else

It'd be really awesome if they knew about Panem too, and how they react to that society.
I wasn't too fond of the ending, either. I guess it would be alright if it was about the minor characters, but a book that centers around Katniss and Peeta sucking face while everyone else picks up the pieces would be a tad redundant.

Oh my gosh I had never thought about a book that focuses on the original rebellion before but that would be totally awesome! (I am *this* close to singing A Very Potter Musical right now.) If she actually published the book Katniss and Peeta write at the end of MJ, that would be cool.

Like a "Tales of Beetle the Bard" type situation?
That would be awesome!

But it kinda makes me wonder exactly what that book would be. WOUld it be character focused? Or would it be just like Hunger Games because it would the war through katniss's eyes

It would be cool if it was like an extra thing, sort of an anthology of characters, but done in the style of Katniss and Peeta's book. Like, more info on the revolutionaries and past victors who fought in the Rebellion. Not the war through Katniss's eyes because I got enough of that in MJ

I think it would best be done in the style of short stories, as apposed to short character biographies, like the companion book for Percy Jackson. I just don't see a book like that selling unless it's to "complete the collection".
We see WAY too much through Katniss' eyes, in my opinion. I would've liked to see, at least a prologue done in Peeta's POV.
