Are you a big fan of FF.net? I'm personally not, for several reason, though I do admit that the site has several pros.
I find the complicated upload process of uploading rather off-putting. I also know of many authors who do not post for this exact reason, and I'm forced to follow them to another site to read their works. When it comes to reading, there's obviously a lot of writers posting on the site, some well seasoned, others young beginners struggling with grammar. This will naturally affect every website where fic is posted and is not necessarily a problem; more experienced writers have the opportunity to help others improve. Reviews are quite often the key to success, so when I see something that needs fixing or rewarding I always point it out. In addition, the features and filters can be irritating (such as the ability to tag only two characters, limited character lists, ect).
The pros are obvious: a large reader audience and a huge volume of fanfiction. Many fandoms only exist on FF.net, so it may be the only choice in certain situations.
So the short of it: do you post to FF.net often, and do you post elsewhere? Do you wish there was a bigger alternative (Archive of Our Own is growing, but it's not up there yet). What do you personally wish was different about the site?
Note to admins: I thought that this would be the best forum for the discussion, as it's not nearly as important an issue as those in the WAR forum. If I'm wrong, I apologize.
