Rebels?

So when everything all 'began' with Katniss and the berries, I find it hard to believe THAT many people sawe that as the 'spark' to the rebels. I think it just gave them more of an icon than anything else, I mean unless rebellions were already happening, its hard to see that one act as the defining moment in starting a revolution. As I typed that, it also made me wonder if existing rebels didn't start to spread the rumor that katniss and Peeta did it as a show of rebellion just to get people to act sooner.
Thoughts on the berries being the big rebel turning point, or just a show for the action?

I honestly agree with you Kate. One move usually doesn't warrant such a strong reaction, even if it is as rebellious as that. It would be more appropriate that they were waiting for some act to hind behind, blaming someone else. A figurehead was needed, as well, and no one was brave enough to step up.

That's exactly what katniss turned out to be, just a figurehead. She wasn't pulling any strings she was just the puppet the rebels used as a way to get a 'grip' on the masses and get publicity.
