Another topic discussion gave me this idea of a new thread. Disney focues on younger kids for their movies while the real story is lost in production and we are left with a happy themed G/PG movie.
As carried over, what do you think about Disney making fairy tales for the older groups.
Personally I like the idea but then I don't lnow how productive it would be for them unless they do something like red riding hood with the plot

I agree, the stupid cartoons that plague, all Disney, CartoonNetwork, and Nick don't appeal to the older audiences, and neither do any of the new movies. They still focus on happy go lucky fairy tales instead of angst-filled, plot-heavy stories that those 10 and up actually WANT to watch.
If Disney made a serious, sort of bloody fairy tale, I'd watch it. Red Robin Hood would actually be a good idea. As long as no one is wearing tights.

TOTALLY (as I am the one who brought it up in the other thread). The Disney movies show no respect for the brothers Grimm's original stories. It would be like drawing a frown on the Mona Lisa, or ripping apart a Mozart, or removing chapters of a Mark Twain. You wouldn't do it with those - so why would you do it with fairy tales?
I would love to see Pinocchio die. Let's face it - if anyone actually got swallowed by a whale, they'd be dead, so why not feed 'em to a shark?
