My school is very progressive. Some of the books on our summer reading list involve gay main characters/couples and even more will once I start reccomending books...what?. Also, in Lower and Middle school, we celebrated Banned Books Week (I think that's what it's called?) by having project where we were required to read a banned book

Nice, did anyone else hear about the Hunger Games becoming one of the Banned Books due to ...violence (duh but get this) and sexual content.

O. M. G.
There's more sexual content in *LANGUAGE ALERT* FUCKING MARY HAD A LITTLE LAMB! SHE'S THE ONE GETTING MOLESTED BY A LAMB.
Anyway, violence, I get. There's plenty of gory and war themes in the HG series, but SEXUAL CONTENT? Why isn't Twilight half to hell for sexual content?

Um, what version of Mary Had a Little Lamb did you listen to, Carter? *confusion about when Mary was molested by a sheep*

I'm curious about that as well, Carter.
Banned books week! We have that here as well. I was in the newspaper last year cause I was reading the Diary of Anne Frank, and Harry Potter. And some idiot at my school thought that I was the one who banned the books. -_-

I'm...frightened by the level of intelligence of the people at your school.

Rowena, let's put it this way. If college standards were still as high as they used to be. No one would make it out of my school.

That's awful but all too believable, sadly. My school's problem is that they frequently let in kids with lots of issues/don't expel kids with lots of issues because their parents donate a lot of money.
